Brine Soccer Balls
Brine soccer balls are relatively unknown outside the US but that is not to say they do not make quality soccer balls. To prove this the Brine soccer ball has been the official soccer ball of college soccer in America for the last 17 years.
Brine actually started manufacturing soccer balls in the 1960’s and was the first company to cover the ball with synthetic leather to make the ball more durable. Brine also claim to be the first manufacturer to make a perfectly round bladder. Brine were also the first to give an unconditional guarantee a soccer ball.
The top of the family of Brine Soccer balls is the Triumph 20-600.
This ball is the official soccer ball of the 2007 NCAA season. NCAA soccer is really the highest level of soccer in the US outside the professional game. This should not take anything away from the ball as the set up in college football can be way ahead of lower professional outfits throughout the world. This season runs from August to December so we should see a new design for the 2008 Season sometime in the summer.
Triumph 20-600
The Brine Triumph 20-600 is a match standard ball in the GURU series that Brine manufactures. The ball consists of its highest quality PU cover materialisation to date. As with many top soccer balls this particular ball has been engineered for improved touch, trajectory and handling.
The functional graphics on the ball are symmetrically integrated to provide improved ball balance and tracking through the air.
A tru-flight latex bladder is also used to ensure roundness and consistent spin. The ball is also hand sewn thread stitched for a tight feel and consistent play.
The Triumph 20-600 comes in royal blue and with a 3 year unconditional guarantee. Suitable for match football the ball is only available in size 5.
Phenom Series
The Brine Evolution is part if the Phenom series of Brine soccer ball family. The Evolution is has the traditional Brine graphics which does look quite dated when put side by side with the Triumph.
The Evolution has soft and durable PU cover fitted with an air lock C2 bladder for uniform pressure distribution and air retention. The outer casing is hand stitched and the ball is suitable for match and training.
The Brine Evolution comes with a 2 year unconditional guarantee and is ideal for kids’ soccer as it also comes in size 3 and 4 as well as the bigger size 5.
Prodigy Series
The Brine Attack is part of the Prodigy series of Brine family. The attack is a training ball which again comes in sizes 3, 4 and 5.
The balls are constructed with a highly durable hand stitched PVC cover and again has an air tight bladder for superior air retention. These balls are mainly recommended for high use in training and come with a 1 year unconditional guarantee.
The only negative point to the Brine Soccer ball is that they currently do not have a FIFA approved ball in their armoury. This is not to say the Triumph 20-600 is not up to that standard. It is just that Brine may not want to pay the license fee that goes with the approval.
