The New Kit
The Colorado Rapids soccer team is one of the 10 founder members of the current MLS. The team play their home games at the Dicks Sporting Goods Park in Denver Colorado. The Colorado Rapids home jersey is burgundy with the adidas three stripes in sky blue with the words RAPIDs on the chest.
The Rapids away top is the reverse of the home, A sky blue jersey with the team crest and the Colorado emblazoned on the chest.
The team also wear an adidas pregame shirt for warm ups which is burgundy with grey side panels.

The new Colorado Rapids soccer uniform is not the only thing that gives a new look about the Rapids team. The Rapids team also has a new look in terms of personnel with 18 players being traded or freed by the Rapids. In exchange 15 new players are to pull on the burgundy and sky blue of the Rapids.
Colorado Rapids began life in 1995 at the prestigous Mile High stadium – home of the NFL Football team the Denver Broncos. They played there between 1996 and 2001without much success before moving to IVESCO Field at mile high from 2002 -2006.
It was at the beginning of the 2007 season that Colorado rapids moved to the soccer specific stadium ,Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, in the Denver Suburb of Commerce City. This was a much needed move considering the average attendance had been 12,000 – 14,000 for the previous four years.
On the field The Colorado rapids have struggled to retain any level of consistency.The Honours have been few and far between. The only two highlights have both ended in defeat. The first being an MLS cup final defeat at the hands of DC United in 1997 and the second being a 2-0 US Open Cup final defeat against underdogs Rochester Raging Rhinos.
