Puma Soccer Balls

Puma soccer balls are few and far between with this sports giant concentrating sports clothing and other equipment. Puma have therefore done a great job when it comes to the new offering of match ball. They have managed to design a match football which can compete with other companies who have invested heavily in R & D in this area.

Puma V1.08 Football The latest offering from Puma is the Puma V1.08. This ball uses what Puma call d3o technology. The word Puma use to describe this ball is that it can create “intelligent behaviour” dependant on how hard the ball is kicked. At low impact speeds the cushioning layer of the ball retains its soft feel.

Alternatively when this ball is hit at high speed the d3o molecules lock together instantly increasing the balls acceleration off the foot.

A recent study carried out by Hallam University in Sheffield, England concluded that Puma V1.08 accelerates 6% faster off the foot than the previous Puma V1.06. This study also showed that this particular Puma football accelerated faster than all other leading brands top match ball.

If you want to more about the technology of the d3o material click on the link below for a short video on the material.

Again this ball is FIFA approved so it is marketed for us at the top level of the sport and as such is one of the main Puma soccer balls being used by professional and international teams. The Puma V1.08 is around £60 - £70 at the moment so it isn’t cheap.

As well as the V1.08 Puma also manufacture a fluorescent yellow match standard ball. This ball is the Puma V3.08 which is available for around £20 -£25.

One of the other Puma football suitable for matches is the Puma V1.06. The Puma V1.06 Football in Red/White/Black and Size 5 is manufactured using the Puma air lock system, with perimeter balance technology and 6 wing latex bladder it also features what Puma call concept 45 degrees. This would certainly be a cheaper option as these puma soccer balls are available for £25 - £40.
