About Toronto FC Soccer
Toronto FC were formed in 2006. The team played their first MLS game in April 2007. Like Chivas USA in their first season Toronto have struggled losing their first league game 2-0 to Chivas.

Toronto also lost their first home game at The BMO Field to Kansas City Wizards 1-0. Managed by Mo Johnstone of Celtic, Rangers and Everton fame the Toronto side have struggled in their first season.

The team currently props up the Eastern Conference in the MLS but will be looking to improve as the team grows in experience.

Toronto FC are owned by Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment Ltd, who currently own other Sporting franchises in Toronto.

The teams’ home ground is BMO Field which is the largest soccer specific stadium in Canada with a capacity of 20,195.

The team is supported by some of the most enthusiastic fans in the MLS. With season tickets currently capped at 14,000 it is obvious that Toronto can easily support a professional soccer club.

he fans are vocal with their support and can get over excited. In the past they have been guilty of invading the pitch and throwing missiles. The club to give them their due have sent e-mails to all season ticket holders to request that they stop these activities. Time will tell if this changes anything.

Toronto supporters groups include the U-Sector, the Red Patch Boys and the Tribal Rhythm Nation who promote multi cultural support with drums and chants.
