Can Wigan FC improve on the performance of last season only narrowly missing relegation?
Having been in the English Premier league for soon to be four seasons Wigan can be proud of their achievements given the fierce competition in the bottom half of the table.
Proof of this was the 2007/8 season when it was so tight at the bottom that although it went to the wire the Lactics still managed to finish 14th.

The New Wigan Athletic Shirts have not been released yet for the 2008/9 season but the 2008 Wigan athletic home shirt is still available.
The
Wigan home shirt
has the familiar blue and white vertical stripes with the JJB logo on the front.
The
away Wigan kit
is all white with the JJB logo on the front alongside the Wigan Club crest.

Retro Wigan FC Football Shirts
The only
retro Wigan Athletic football shirt
available at the moment is the 1960-61 Wigan Athletic home shirt. This blue shirt with white sleeves sports the pre 1974 club badge. The Wigan Athletic badge was modernised at that point to the tree and crown design Wigan have today.
The JJB Stadium
Wigan Athletic play their home games at the JJB stadium. Completed for the 1999-00 season the stadium holds a capacity of 25,138.
The first game that took place in the stadium was a friendly between Wigan and Manchester United in what can only be described as a very fitting stadium for Wigans needs.
Wigan Athletic Football Newspaper Book
The
Wigan Athletic newsbook
is a great gift for any Wigan fan. The book contains newspaper articles from the time they were written giving a very unique insight in to the history of Wigan Athletic FC.
The book begins in 1934 with coverage of an first round FA Cup thrashing of Carlisle. It also gives details of the premier league era for Wigan Athletic up to the end of last season.
