How do you kick a soccer ball correctly?

The soccer kick. The importance of being able to kick a soccer ball should never be under estimated by Soccer Coaches. Yet ask the majority of coaches how to kick a soccer ball and they will invariably get it wrong.

After a recent conversation with friends who had played and coached the game the question arose -

Why can some players kick a soccer ball far harder and more accurately than others?

Some of the coaches and ex players said it was natural talent.

Some claimed it was in the timing of striking the ball.

Some claimed it was more to do with the approach to the ball and the follow through.

Confused? We certainly were so we set about trying to find out where we could get a concise resource to show all the facets of striking a soccer ball.

We wanted to know how to teach players to kick the ball cleanly even if it meant going back to the basics and re learning everything we were ever taught.
